Humbert, the bastard of Savoie, acquired the fortress in 1432, who completed it by an advanced defense. The castle was set on fire during the wars of Bourgogne.
Today the castle of Chenaux is occupied by the prefecture but there is always a possibility to do a tour, visit the donjon and of course let your imagination fly away...
