Payerne's shop windows are adorned in red and white and thus launch the enchanting period of Advent.
As of 1 December, the windows of some thirty shops in the centre of Payerne are adorned with the decorations made by pupils of the region's primary schools. They spend two months refining their winter ornaments on the theme of "Christmas in Red and White".
This collaboration between the school, the business society of Payerne and the tourism office, under the impulse of Mrs Murielle Rossat, has known a great success in 2015 and 2017, making it possible to dress the city once again during the few weeks leading to Christmas.
There is nothing more fun than shopping for Christmas while discovering beautifully colored windows.
A leaflet listing the various decorated windows is available from the merchants concerned and the tourism office.
