The Grande Cariçaie nature reserve can also be discovered by horse-drawn carriage! The trip, in the company of an experienced biologist, offers a new perspective on one of Switzerland's loveliest lake reserves.
Want an original way of discovering the Grande Cariçaie? During the summer, special horse-drawn carriage rides take place in the heart of Grande Cariçaie. One of them leads nature lovers and devotees of local products to discover Cheyres and its wines.
This carriage ride takes place between Estavayer-le-Lac and Cheyres and starts in Estavayer's Casino car park at 9.00 a.m. Guides specialised in biology accompany the entire visit in order to reveal the secrets offered by the nature reserve, which runs along the entire southern shore of Lake Neuchâtel. The outing includes a stopover in the middle of the marshes to enjoy an aperitif featuring wines from the sun-soaked vineyards of Cheyres and small local dishes. The trip ends in Estavayer-le-Lac at around midday.
